If you feel your chin doesn’t fit your face, whether it is too large or too small, you may be a candidate for a chin implant or chin reduction. Patients should not be experiencing any jaw or teeth function issues and should be in relatively good health, be non-smokers, and have realistic goals for surgery. Patients who have used dermal fillers around the chin (such as Juvederm or Restylane) to create a more pronounced chin and were pleased with the results are good candidates for chin implants.
During a chin implant, Dr. Nima will make an incision in the natural crease line under the chin or inside the mouth. The tissue is gently stretched and an implant, made of synthetic material that feels similar to natural tissue, is inserted. The implant is custom fit and sized to a patient’s face.During a chin reduction, Dr. Nima will sculpt the bone by shaving it down or removing a portion of it.
